My business associates, colleagues, and clients often ask why I am such stickler on living and working in Fort Lauderdale. The truth is, there are many reasons so it is hard to focus on just one. What I do know is that there are people that plan a vacation to Fort Lauderdale and count the days they can arrive at this beautiful city. I wake up every morning in this town and absolutely love every aspect of it. The dining/restaurant scene, nightlife, activities, people, and that stroll thorough Las Olas that can brighten just about any one’s day. But to make it easier for everyone, here are the top 5 reasons I love Fort Lauderdale so much.

Restaurants

The restaurants  in Fort Lauderdale are truly one-of-a-kind. Places like Steak 954 and Funky Buddha Brewery will truly make you rethink your perception toward’s Fort Lauderdale. The other thing I love, is that unlike Miami, you can actually get a table. Forgive me if I am not a fan of waiting 2+ hours for a table. Sorry, Miami.

FTL vs. MIA

I can’t help it, I have to travel. Sometimes I have to meet a client out of state, and one thing I really love, is not having to fly out of MIA. That place is a Zoo. You would be amazed at how many cities you can fly to out of Fort Lauderdale Airport. This airport really has their stuff together. Rarely are their flight delays, issues with parking, or those ridiculous lines you can see at MIA. Oh yeah, and how about the curbside Valet Parking for when you are running late for that flight. Can’t beat it.

Hotels

When I need a vacation, but don’t have that much time, Fort Lauderdale is the best for Staycations. It has some of the best hotels, but the rates are not ridiculous. You can get a room at the Fort Lauderdale Ritz Carlton for a fraction of what you would pay for a 5 star hotel in Miami for example or other big cities. And you are within a stone throw from a variety of activiies, many within walking distance.

Fort Lauderdale Waterways

The waterways in Fort Lauderdale are also pretty awesome and they cut through the city so if you ever wanted to take a water taxi, where you can drink and have a good time, imagine pulling up to your hotel from the boat. Truly awesome, I guarantee it.

Downtown Fort Lauderdale

Downtown Fort Lauderdale, is unlike any other down-town out there. It’s beauty, restaurants, and businesses are exactly what a downtown should be like. Not blocks and blocks of homeless people and alleys where you better becareful you do not make a wrong turn. It is truly a great place to eat, conduct business, or visit a government office.
